Click Manage tab – Settings panel  – (Project Parameters).

In the Project Parameters dialog, click Add.

In the Parameter Properties dialog, select Project parameter.

Enter a name for the project parameter.

Select a discipline to be “Common”

Select the “Material” parameter type.

Under Group parameter under, select the heading under which the parameter should display on the Properties palette to be “Materials and Finishes”

Choose the parameter is stored by instance. Then Click OK.

To display “Material” Instance Parameters on the Properties palette, click Manage tab – Settings panel  (Project Parameters).

In the Project Parameters dialog, select Duct Material, click OK.

Under Materials and Finishes you can see the new instance parameter “Duct Material”
