Select Export/ CAD formats as shown

Select the view which will be exported

After clicking on next, this window shows to give the file a name

Select your autoCAD version

Automatic as be named in Revit: long-short

or manual : write a different name

Let Revit exporting the sheet as external reference files, we’ll know what it means later, then click on Next

Revit exported the sheet to these files, now open the cad file

This is the cad file at AutoCAD after exporting from Revit

As you notice the sheet looks like an image, what if we want to edit the design, hover over the sheet then a double click on it

Now it converts to this black interface

To start editing, hover over the sheet and double click, this toolbar will be shown

Select the file “external reference” from the list

Now you can edit your design
